This week, Rightmove came out with some cheerful results on the happiest place to live in the UK. Good old Christchurch came fourth!!
More than 21,000 people across Great Britain took part in the Rightmove survey, which asks residents how happy they are where they live, as well as asking them to rank 12 happiness factors.
Rightmove’s housing market expert Miles Shipside says: “Every year the factors that drive happiness tend to be about how people feel living in an area and the people around them. This year, however, sense of belonging has become an even bigger driver of happiness, which shows the people of Great Britain really value feeling proud of the place they call home. The relationship of these two factors suggests that people think highly of a thriving community spirit, which could explain why the top ten are all smaller places.”
Other nearby regions came out on top, including Newbury and Tunbridge Wells for the South East, and Monmouth for Wales.
The particular factors that were considered when deciding which were the country’s happiest of places included aspects such as community spirit, feeling safe, earning enough money to live comfortably, proximity to green spaces and amenities, friendliness and artistic and cultural activities.
We know from our successful Sales and Lettings office in Christchurch all these factors are measured when it comes to choosing homes. This means our new residents benefit also.
As a strong community-led Estate Agency we know Christchurch offers this in abundance and so far been involved with the Christchurch Food Festival, Poppy Appeal, School Fetes, Local Amateur Dramatics/Arts, and local Charities to name only a few.
We feel incredibly proud to be a part of this lovely town, and may it remain happy always!
